T'PAU BIOGRAPHY 2026

T'Pau took the charts by storm in 1987 with their first hit single Heart & Soul reaching No.4 in both the UK & US charts. This led to a meteoric rise in T'Pau's fortunes at home & in the States, where the track stayed on the US Billboard Chart for six months.

Following a pivotal tour with Nik Kershaw & European arena tour supporting Bryan Adams, and another UK tour of their own. T’Pau’s next single China In Your Hand stayed at No.1 for five weeks - the longest serving No.1 of the year. Simultaneously, their debut album Bridge of Spies occupied the No.1 album slot for two weeks and went on to become certified quadruple platinum in the UK - selling 1.2 million copies.

T’Pau enjoy the exclusive title of holding three simultaneous No.1 slots; China In Your Hand No.1 in the singles charts, Bridge of Spies No.1 in the album charts, and the China In Your Hand remix at No.1 in the dance charts! T’Pau were nominated for five Brit Awards, an Ivor Novello Award and won an ASCAP Award from the USA for Heart & Soul.

Their own arena concerts followed plus numerous international festivals and Princes Trust Galas & royal command performances. T’Pau opened the prestigious Brit awards in 1988.

The subsequent 1988 album Rage also went platinum. A third album The Promise was released in 1991, achieving Top 10 gold status.

The original line up of T'Pau split in 1991, but in 1997 Carol Decker built a new line-up and embarked upon a 25-date UK tour plus festivals, recording several shows and releasing T’Pau Live.

In 1998 Carol recorded Red, the first T'Pau studio album for six years & was honoured to perform with the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Princess Diana Memorial Concert. T’Pau toured Red in the UK and joined Status Quo’s 1998 European Tour.

In 2013 Ronnie Rogers rejoined and T’Pau began the hugely successful #Tpau25live Anniversary Tour. The subsequent record Pleasure And Pain was then released in 2015, to five star reviews.

In 2015 a Bridge of Spies expanded edition was release followed by the band’s 30th Anniversary Virgin Anthology box-set in 2017. Carol and Ronnie now regularly drop new music as download singles.

A regular fixture on the festival and arena circuit, Carol & T’Pau annually rock big festivals such as the Isle Of Wight Festival, Rewind, Let’s Rock, W-Fest, Here and Now, Step Back, Ibiza Hardrock, Night of The Proms 2022, 80sClassical, Gary Davies Sounds of the 80s, 80sOrchestral to name but a few.
